Deep in the wild, roadless rainforest of eastern Honduras grows the American palm, Elaeis oleifera. From the nut of that palm comes Batana — a deep, golden-brown oil so complete that it has never needed improving.

If you've been burned by fake batana before, you should be skeptical. So let's clear the air — honestly.

I've bought "batana oil" before and it did nothing. How is this any different?
Because most of what's sold as batana isn't batana. The viral boom flooded the market with oils cut with palm or shea, watered down and perfumed to fake the scent — so people slather it on, feel nothing, and blame the oil. What let you down almost certainly wasn't the real thing. Ours is one ingredient, unrefined, and you can scan the seal to prove it before you even open the jar.
How do I know this is real and not diluted like the rest?
Don't take our word for it — check it. Every jar carries a scan-to-verify seal that traces it back to the source. And the oil tells on itself: real batana is thick and solid in the jar, melts into oil in your hands, smells of roasted coffee and runs golden-to-deep-brown. Thin, clear and candle-scented? That was never batana.
Will it actually work on MY hair type?
Batana doesn't care whether your hair is 4C, relaxed, fine, curly or straight — it works on the scalp and the strand, not a "type." Coily, dry and heat-tired hair drinks it up; finer hair just needs a little less. One jar covers every head in the house.
How long before I actually see a difference?

Won't an oil just make my hair greasy?
That's what refined, silicone-heavy oils do — they sit on top. Real batana melts in and absorbs, and a pea-size is genuinely all you need. Use half of what you think and it leaves hair soft, never slick.
What's the deal with the smell?
It smells like dark roasted coffee and earth — bold at first, and completely natural. That scent is proof it's raw and unrefined; the "batana" that smells like perfume has been stripped and fragranced. It softens as it absorbs, and most people end up loving it.
Is it safe for color-treated, relaxed, low-porosity or fine hair — and locs?
Yes — it's a single natural oil with nothing harsh in it, so there's no chemical to fight your color, relaxer or porosity. Low-porosity hair: warm it well and use a little less so it sinks in. Locs love it. Fine hair: a small amount on the scalp and ends is plenty.
Can it really help my edges, postpartum shedding or thinning?
